The chapter begins with Toya and Yobuko visiting a public bathhouse to relax after a long week of capturing low-level mages, including a veggie thief and a bicycle thief. To relax, Toya uses a free pass coupon to take Yobuko to the Splish-Splash Bath. Toya explains that he is following advice from the Divine Magus, who told him that taking a bath is the best way to make problems feel solved. After Toya asks Yobuko to take Mini Magus with her to the women's side, he enters the men's bath and encounters Rei Tsujimura and Tatsu Urasa from the Elite Magic Task Force. Tsujimura is initially hostile, having been humiliated by Toya during a previous incident, and demands his sword despite it being locked in a locker. While Yobuko is shown struggling in the women's side, the three men sit in the sauna together. Tsujimura explains that the Elite Magic Task Force was formed in secret to deal with mages slipping into the human world, and he reveals his personal grudge against mages because his family was attacked by one year ago. He then describes a ranking system inwhich Rank 1 mages are the strongest and Rank 5 are the weakest. In an attempt to intimidate Toya, Tsujimura talks about a dangerous group of Rank 3 mages currently moving through a mall in Kanda City. Toya thanks him for the intel, realizing that heading to the mall will allow him to catch many mages at once and get things moving. Before leaving, Toya uses magic to drastically increase the humidity of the room. The chapter concludes with Yobuko being terrified to run into the scary people again in the lobby, while Toya forces her to apologize for her outburst as they head home.

Osoegawa vs. The Sauna is the sixth chapter of the The Mage Next Door manga series, written and illustrated by Hideaki Nabe. It was released on December 7, 2025.

    Summary[edit]

Before leaving, Toya uses magic to increase the humidity of the room. The chapter concludes with Yobuko being terrified to run into the scary people again in the lobby, while Toya forces her to apologize for her outburst as they head home.
